Default HELP: Brake light problem

Ok so i got pulled over today for no tail lights, and naturally i was like what the heck. So i got home had a friend of mine step in the brake. They work so i was confused, drove to the police station to show the cop they worked. When i press on the brake they didnt work, he step on the break aswell so i could see. I ended up driving back home and had my friend step on the brake again and they worked. We drove down the road to the stop sign and they worked, drove down the road they stopped working. Then we drove back home and they worked.

Help me whats goin on here?

Good chance your multifunction switch is having issues. Your brakes are actually run through that also

I'm sure there's a switch on the brake pedal as well that's probably the cheapest and easiest swich to look at first.

I had this problem with my old 95 Cutlass and it was the turn signal switch. Have your friend hit the brakes and then turn on the turn signal, chances are the oposite brake light will go off. Hold the turn signal lever in the right spot and you might find a position that makes your lights work lol.
