Default Headunit Upgrade

Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my headunit, here is what im thinking

Currently Have:
Kenwood KDC-MP638U
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...DC-MP638U.html

Want:
Kenwood DDX514
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...514-.html#tabs

My question is, will i need a new wiring harness or should it be direct plug and play after changing up the rcas and all.

Also, I need to know what dash install kit i will need.

This looks like what I should need, but there's the plastic piece in the middle and I'm just curious of how it would install.

http://cgi.ebay.com/GM-K422-1998-200...item45f5767794

Any help would be great, thanks!

The Wiring harness adapter for the car will work. and you will have to use the new wiring harness with the new HU to attach to the one in your car because the new one has different features.

Yes that dash kit will work. you just need to take a utility knife and cut out the center piece and it works fine.

oh and BTW on the new HU so you can watch movies not in park attach the parking brake wire from the new HU to the ground wire from the new HU and attach to the main ground wire as normal. I believe the parking wire is the green and white one but im not sure and its really long

ok, i probably wont be able to upgrade for a little bit but i like to get info before lol, i think it should be a fairly easy install, i dont think i have to recrimp or splice anything, just swap the harnesses around?

Im not 100% sure on when. Im probably buying the roof rails from Silverbullit and there is a some more things I need to get for my system.

Im not sure on a price I see the price has dropped since I bought it 10 months ago or so. PM me the price youd be looking to pay for it and ill will try to work it in my budget. I only posted about selling because Ive been looking at the DDX814 model or one of those models

go to cruchfield. and find a double DINN deck and it'll add the dash kit you need into the bin, than just find it on sonic.
