Default Has Anyone Ever Changed Lightbulbs in the Cluster?

The bulb between 40 mph and 60 mph in my speedo is out. It's far from an emergency, as the rest of the cluster is lit fine, but I'm just curious how difficult this actually is if I get really bored someday.

In this thread, I have some photos of an instrument cluster from a 2005 Impala - same as 2000-2005 MC. These bulbs are simply soldered in and I would assume the same for your newer MC. I know some older clusters had turn bulbs and replacement was easy, but I doubt it for the newer cars.

At any rate, I'm certain it would be a fairly straight forward de-solder and solder in a new bulb or LED.

Someone else will have to post their newer cluster if there is anything radically different with the board.

I was afraid you'd say that. Sadly, I have the soldering skills of an ape with ten thumbs.

I can't see any actual bulbs in the pics. Do the bulbs come in the correct colors, or do you have to slide them into those tiny plastic sleeves? (I never replaced any lights in my Aurora for just that reason.)

Never mind, I found them. No plastic sleeves. Still to small for me to successfully handle. (My name is NOT Donald Trump. :P)

There is possibly local places that would do that for you. Had my gauge faces, our problematic stepper motors and from white to green lights all changed out for close to $175 and some change. They removed the I/C from the car and all. Better than you with your 10 thumbs or me with no thumbs trying it.

You come across as a funny guy in your posts, I like crude humor Donald...

I had my Cluster re-lamped and all new steppers for 90-bucks!
