Factory XM
I have a 2007 Monte Carlo LT. It came without the factory XM kit, but the stereo is capable of having it wired in. Does anyone know how much it costs to get the XM kit for the factory stereo and how much to install, or if it can be DIY installed?
Thanks.

i have a spare xm box in the trunk you can have it as long as it doesnt mess me up but im not going though the process of taking out the wiring. to be completely honest with you i think its ten bucks a month and its not that worth it in my opionion.
also they sell dash ones about the size of a gps, not sure if they require an antennea though. i could ask my dude tomorrow he loves his, but again im not that impressed.
with the money you saved not paying subsciption costs you could buy about 12 cd's a year!!!

12cds is like saying, hey for the same price as eating a buffet all year, I get a steak once a month...
I have the express EZ and I love it, came with all the wiring and my antenna is on the roof, but I drilled no hole. Its barely noticable.

first off it was a P.U.N. and second i listen to a 90% rap, 10% rock so the stations are limited. also i do eat a steak about once a month, and i look forward to going out to dinner with my girl. i would go more but id rather spend my hard earned money elsewhere.

I have a Delphi aftermarket XM receiver that I plug into the AUX input, but I'd prefer to get things as stock as possible. It's a bit annoying to not be able to control my XM from the steering wheel and I live in a city known for crime and would like as little showing as possible.
It's $13/month now, by the way.
