Default Dynamat Trunk? Will it work?

Can anyone who has subs let me know please how they addressed the trunk rattle? Mine rattles right along the rear window; mostly at the corners.

This makes my system sound like crap outside .... feel like I'm driving a hoopde and not an 03. Was going to have it Dynamated but don't know if it would be worth it or not.

Thanks in advance. You all have been a great help to me.

JT

yes dynamat will help alot but you have to do it good especially on the trunk lid becasue that is where most of your rattle comes from its good t take the caerpet out and cover the floors and wheel wells with it as well
and that will help kill some of the resonating road and exahst noise in your car and help the radio sound better

Thanks for the reply DESSO3.

As long as it will help then I will have it done. I can't hear it really on the inside, but def on the outside you can hear the rattle.

I don't think I am going to do it myself cuz I would have no idea what I'm doing. Just gonna have them do it when I get my other amp put in and new alarm.

Thanks again.

Dynamat does work, however the name brand stuff is very expensive. I personally used Stingers 'Roadkill' in my Cutlass when I had it, and you could tell a difference once it was installed. You can look on Ebay and look for some cheaper stuff, it all works the same. I dont know about shops by you, but around me, shops will specifically just do certain spots to stop the rattling without having to do the whole trunk, just a suggestion if you wanted to ask stereo shops if they will do that.

Thanks. Yeah, I'll see if they can just do where it rattles, but the more I think about I might just have a box made to fire the subs into the cabin. I thought for sure 2 -12's could be heard from outside, but it is not really loud. I don't know, I'm going to see what I should do.

Right now I just for 2 12's in a sealed box (they had to order a ported one for me) and I'm worried that once I get the ported box its going to rattle so much more.

Any suggestions?

i have a ported box and i think compared to a sealed that it sends more bass into the inside of the car.. and takes some of the outside noise away but my trunk still rattles

Dont have the front of the subwoofer point into the car, have it point out (with the magnets towards the interior) you gain a few db's when the noise reflects off of the trunk. Dynamat increases this. It allows more noise to be reflected into the car, instead of losing some of it going outside. And as DESS03 said, make sure to do EVERY part of the trunk, wheel wells, under carpet, everything. In my cutlass, there was a extra piece of protection under the carpeting to protect from heat from the exause, I pulled up that additional protection and then layed down the dynamat and then put that protection back over. Ported boxed generally are louder, I had a sealed and I could be heard outside my car easily. What do you got in your trunk?

Thank you all for the advice.

Thanks Gr4v3_7 for the input on direction. I have 2 JL12W1's in a sealed box now. It's loud inside the car .... very loud, but not what I expected outside. I'm use to having a hatch, and had 2 10's in a bandpass in my Eclipse that could be heard really good outside. The Monte is just rattles. I have a JL 1200e amp powering the subs ... all I know is that its a mono amp.

Maybe I was expecting too much.

I have two JL 12W7's pushing around 900 watts consistently, in a 4 cu ft double ported box. My trunk rattle is immense. I'm about to move up to a single 15" Fi BL with a crescendo BC 2000 pushing around 2000 watts. I'll also do a Big 3 upgrade and a battery in the trunk. I think trying to stop the rattle would almost be aimless in mine. Help.
