dash remove

Default dash remove

im at a loss for the complete removal of the top dash peice, i was talking about it the other day but does anybody have any idea on to remove the vinyl foam covered dash peice that spans the top? somebody had said their are screws, ive searched but to no real evail the only info i found on panel removing was mostly posting by my self

You have a 6th gen right? If you do the air bag is under that panel. Im not sure how it is removed but Im just gonna say be careful before you go prying that sucker off

yeah that would certainly suck to set off >_< but their honestly shouldn't be a large enough force i could generate by hand that could set that off, you know unless GM screwed up but they never do that

Default dash pad

you have to remove the trim piece in front of the radio/ac unit which spans from the d/s all the way to just past the radio. its all one piece. theres a screw on both sides then it comes off. you then need to take off both pillar mouldings and the trim plate which has the ambient sensor. then theres a bunch of 10mm screws holding it in. be careful! if the dash doesnt come up easy theres screws you missed, i remember there being one on each side right up near the glass which were a PITA

Definitely review the Haynes Manual on precautions to take to avoid having the Air Bag go-off.
If you short the Air Bag Circuit, ... it's going to set you back a couple-a-grand!

disconnect the battery and ur air bag worries are gone. the only way to set off an airbag is to power the electric circuit that ignites the fuel. pressure isnt gonna do it
