Question Dash Rattling from bass and Onstar effects

Hello Forum, I'm new to the Forum.

I have a 2001 Monte Carlo ss and I'm 2 problems / questions. I plan to do most work myself.

[1] I plan to install heavy bass audio into my car. The issue is that with the stock system cranked up, the dash seems to rattle, and horribly disrupts the music. I'm pretty hands on so I have no problem taking stuff apart.

[Q] Any ideas on how to stop the rattling and vibration of the dash?

[2] I also have Onstar, and was wondering if pulling the stock audio system would disrupt the Onstar system.

[Q] Will replacing the Stock audio system affect the Onstar?, If so, can it be worked around.

Any other tips on audio installation would be greatly appreciated

The stock system is causing the dash to rattle and horribly disrupt your music? Something is seriously wrong with that because I have a system in my car with 1200 watts just for the bass and my dash doesn't rattle a bit. My guess is you've got some loose bolts holding that dash in place so I'd start there.

Pulling the stock audio won't disrupt OnStar so long as you get a harness that retains it.

are you sure it's the dash rattling if it's just on the stock system?

where on the dash does it seem to rattle? like towards the top black part or glove box etc.

might seem like a dumb question but is there anything in your glove box? how about the plastic pieces under the glove box? that's where I would begin the search and then maybe check screws within the glove box, there should only be a few

Thanks

I'm gonna grab a screwdriver and start tighten on dash to see if it helps, I was thinking that the right speaker could be the problem, but Im not totally sure how to pop the grill, dont wanna break it

You gotta take the whole door panel off, unfortunately.

i would guess your speaker is about to go out. sometimes they cause a rattling like sound when they are worn out
