Climate Control Lighting

On a 2001 Monte are the sliding switches that control temperature suppose to have back lighting? If so, what type of bulb(s) and how are they accessed?

Just saw this, I had the right hand light go out on my 03 soon after I bought the car so it was still under warranty. The light is part of the slider control and the whole thing had to be replaced.
