I've got one in my 2002. I installed it in the open slot below the HVAC controls. I used velcro and a big piece of foam to hold it in as I couldn't find a place under there to screw it to. It hooks up the "dirty" way to the 12V plug for the backseat but I routed all the wires so you can't see any of them. Heres some pics. (those other wires are for my ipod hookup and my radar detector but none of them are CB ones)

random thought... what about positioning INSIDE the center console behind the shifter (where the change holder and cd shelves are)? that way nobody would see it to think about stealing it and it would be immediately reachable... my $.02 but i would x4 on the handheld!

Haha i know what you mean. Right now I use a cheap magnetic one that I place on the far left side of the trunk lid. It doesn't look that bad and it actually works really well. The best part is when I want to look good, I can just pop it off and throw it into the trunk in 10 seconds. Eventually I still wanna get a black fiberglass one and do a more permenant mount. Dukes of Hazzard style haha

Yellow,

I like where you have yours.. Unfortunately they no longer have that much room where you put it in the 2006s...

tommypro..

I thought of that.. would have to have an external speaker I think.. unless the sound would make it out of there.. I could also cut a hole and put a speaker grille on the console..

I run my CB only when I'm pressed for time. I have it wires so that I can plug it right into my cigarette lighter and set the radio up against the center console hanging off a small attached bungee cord looped over the gear shifter.

I run a loaded antenna on a magnetic base in the center of the trunk and run the wire in through between the back seats.

Then I go to momma's listening to the good old boys giving-out the smokey reports all along the boulevard and occasionally put the hammer down when the front door tells the rockin' chair to bring it on up and the back door is closed to oncoming bogies on my six.

I call the move: "Stealing second base"
