That's what I'm currently working on as well, SPL. It's very addicting lol. Good thing though if you buy quality equipment, you can always sell it if you need to for a good price. Which is why I'm going with sundown audio.

I'd definitely go with the Sundown, Jacob's CS is second to none and the product is very dependable, underrated and holds it's value well.

it's a fun hobby but can get expensive, don't expect to win with some walmart subs lol.
Yeah buddy, Sundown SA-12's FTW!!! Very impressive subs indeed. Depending on what you're competing in, you could still win with WalMart subs. Out here the popular competition is bassrace where you compete in a class, 129.9 for example, and the goal is to get as close to that number in db w/o going over it as the run ends (30 seconds). But if you're going for highest db, WalMart subs prolly won't get the job done

It didn't take me long to decide to go with the saz lol. It's only $150 more (for me). Much better amp, better looking, huge power, the list goes on. Not knocking the crescendo, but I know someone that ran it at .5ohms and it went to protect, luckily it was under warranty, but still. It's rare that sa has problems. In the far future I'd LOVE to get some v2 nightshades.

And true on the cheapo subs at Walmart. But you just won't have as much fun with them, and they won't last. You get what you pay for.
