Unless you have serious audiophile-quality audio equipment in your car/truck or have winches with high power requirements, you most likely won’t need a super-premium battery. However, this does not mean you can skimp on the equipment – quite the contrary. The quality of your car’s battery is essential when it comes to starting your car. Though you may not notice on warm summer days, a bad battery will not be able to provide enough cold cranking amps to start your car in freezing weather. Interstate for me, but I was surprised the stock OEM battery last as long as it did....almost 6 years!

 

there are twocompanys that make deka batteries and exide batteries dougles batteries make interstate motorcraft and exide car batteries make the rest. ny friend ownes a batteries plus and ownes a autozone he told me. who is the main maker of car batteries there only two who make them and there are over 3 dozen who put there labels on exide and dougles . optima and hawker odessy was started and owened by former military personel who really got pissed when there batteries failed in the feild. as in put a bullit in the odessy and the optima you still have 6 months to replace them. i personally yanked a optima out of a wreked car. the battery case is seriusly cracked just to put curiosity put it in my truck and it started it up for six months as is. also i have a optima in my truck now after that and so far 2001 to 2010 and still starts the truck even when i forget to teun off the spot lights. after i turn them off wait for a hour go back out and it starts up i am basically sold on the agm batteries. agm is absorbed glass matt materels which gives it a better resistants like the sla style of battery sla is starting lighting and ignition. which is the battery that has liquid acid in it insted og a acid gel. the liquid acis is prone to cause oxidation as well hence if you see that white powder on the terminals you have ten times as more in the battery of the regular battery. agm does not do to the lack of the liquid. both vent but one vents more and trust me its not the optima. i have to clean my terminale more in my montr carlo and dont have to tutch my trucks terminals

 

as soon as i get i am getting an optima do to how the one i got for my truck has lasted and i also have a odessy in my mustang its a 01 and i got it in 01 and i put an odessy battery in it that to has lasted this long

 

Replaced the battery in the Monte a few months back with one of the DuraLast from Auto Zone, no problems so far.

I've had pretty good luck with the AC Delco batteries. I still have the original battery in my 01 Sierra. No longer has the green eye but I think that went black a few months after I bought my truck.

 

When I had to replace the original battery in my 05, I went with another AC Delco. I hope to have the same performance out of it as the original one.
