As far as the ground is concerned:
I would attach it to a ground strap much like the originals....and frame ground it...Mines grounded thru the body.... to the frame work thru the trunk....away from the fuel lines... |

This is how i have it and my monte and had it in my previous car. I haven't had any problems with it and only paid like $15 for the tray and other things to hold it down.
