Id run it just like u would for an amp power wire, threw the firewall & under the carpet on one side, under the rear seat & into the trunk & ground it somewhere in the trunk, my 300c has the ground in the trunk, if u ever plan on shaving the key hole on the trunk than ull deff want a jump point under the hood if ur battery goes dead

I didn't know the challengers had them in the trunk. The 06 Bonneville had them under the rear seat. We went to jump my buddies car one night after work and couldnt find the battery:rotfl: He just bought the car and had no idea where it was.

I run a battery to back of my monte. I just used 4 gauge wire to run to my back battery and it is plenty big enough.

The new Camaros have them in the trunk too. Luckily they have terminals for jumping located in the engine bay though :rotfl:

People used to move them to the trunk for weight distribution. It also keeps the battery away from the engine heat. The new Dodge Challengers have them in the trunk.

You have to make sure you have the right gauge cables to go that distance..

Yeah I'm hoping 2 gauge is enough? Maybe 0 gauge to be safe though, or do you think it would be a waste?

Ive thought of doing that before, it'll definitly clean up the engine bay some. Best place I could think was the spare tire area and running the wires underneath the car, then just run them through the drain plugs that are in the trunk ;) Lol
Ive also thought of relocating my coolant reservoir tank but I'm just leaving everything where it is.... No need for my engine bay to look all clean and pretty, I'm the only one that sees it most of the time anyways lol and I drive the car everyday... My motor already had a bunch of debris all over it after 2-3 days of driving it :rotfl::nono:

But yours is looking Pretty badass now

Thanks! Mine gets pretty dirty too when I can actually drive it lol. I think the Spare Tire area might be a cool location. Pretty easy to access too. I might put the battery in there and an amp with a plexiglass cover over it  I'll probably just route the battery back there for now until I figure out what I want to do with the stereo :rotfl: I really need to finish up one project before starting the next haha. It's become a habit to just start in on a new one every week or so whether the last one is totally done or not lol.

Yeah I do plan to shave the key hole someday if I can find a decent trunk lid. Good idea to have some terminals up front too. Trying to think of a way to do it and place to put it so it looks clean.

I didn't realize they did either. Under the back seat seems like an odd place for the battery :rotfl:

Nice! Do you have any pics of it put back there? Good to hear that 4 gauge was a large enough wire. I'm still considering going with 2 gauge just because I already have some Fosgate 2 gauge wires.

That's cool that a few cars are coming with them back there. I've never really seen many in the back. Saw a few cars at various car shows that had them relocated to the back, that's where I got the idea.

If you are going to store it for the winter and are tucking the battery away, try to think of a way to make a spot for the tender wires to go so you don't have to leave your trunk open :P

Unless you just remove the battery for the tender.

Where the good/best place to run a ground? Also will a 0/1 guage fit through the interior or should i run it underneath the car and crimp it to the body?

Good idea! More than likely I'll pull the battery over the winter.. Not sure I'd like having the trunk popped in my garage for a few months lol.

Here are some renderings I just did of what is going to be replacing my battery.

Not at all precise, didn't even measure anything, just went by memory/guessing. Once I get home later today I'll get real measurements and see what I can come up with.

I plan to relocate the fuse panel to where the opening in this box is. There will be plexiglass/leaxn covering it, possibly some red leds in there to light it up all fancy at night

I'm thinking I'll make the top part on some sort of hinge so it isn't a pain to change a fuse.

Made with Solidworks and PhotoView in about an hour (probably should have paid attention in class but this was more fun :)) and no this isn't my highest quality of work.

Black?

Or chrome/polished?
http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/...viewchrome.jpg

The round cut out on top is for the washer fluid tube, rectangle to make the fuse box visible, two small posts will be where I put some custom battery terminals

In case you can't visuallize this, it will be going directly behind the frame area behind the passengers headlight. Should span from the frame to the fender. Attempted to make it round to fit the fender on the upper end and angled to fit the frame. Not exact of course.

My K&N intake will actually be coming up for sale here soon. Making something custom and more awesome, going to keep it a surprise til I'm done though :)

Does this involve painting your hood, installing it finally and creating a RAM air system??? Cuz I hope so :p
