Default Back Seat Repair

The pull strap came off the "60" portion of my 60/40 back seat. I know I can get the replacement part cheaply; what I can't do is get the seat cushion down to install it. As far as I can tell, the frame on the back of the seat prevents me from pushing it forward, and I don't want to risk tearing the leather by using tools from the front.

Anyone got any ideas?

You are correct that you can't reach from behind to unlock the lever. Where did the strap fail? You should be able to use needle nose pliers to grab the cord and give it a tug.

The strap tore off of the plastic piece that holds it to the cushion. There's nothing left to grab with the needle nose, which is a damn shame because I have a lovely long one that I had to buy to deal with the wife's POS, I mean 3.6 High Feature engine.

No way to grab the plastic end?

I'm not really sure of any other way to release that lever. Sorry!
