Default Another aftermarket stereo question

OK so I read through plenty of posts and cant quite find the answer im looking for, my 01 ss is non bose with factory amp and on star. I am putting in a complete system using nothing factory. I bought a antenna adapter and a metra integrated amp bypass wiring kit that claims i will be able to hook up an aftermarket HU, it was cheap and after reading Im starting to think i will have problems. I really dont care about the on star or the warning chims, but will this give my car problems if they are not connected? I dont want my warning lights on all the time. I do my own maintenance so Im not concerned about them, I just dont want to sacrifice the reliability of my car. Has anyone used this kit. Ive spent quite a bit on this system and really dont want to by anthing else. Thanks
