2006 Monte Carlo SS sound system

2006 Monte Carlo SS sound system
I purchased my 2006 Monte SS last year and the Bose sound system seems to be asleep! The volume isn't there, and I would think for a Bose system, it would really have some *****! Has anyone else come across this same problem, or know if there was a general problem in the 2006 Monte?
The dealership replaced the original 6-disc/radio with a new one, but it seem didn't make any difference at all.
Can anyone give me any information or pointers to help me get this problem solved before the warranty runs out?
Thank You.

your assumtions are wrong, i can only assume at this point your expectations are to high, as bose is a quality sound provider, not a DB provider. I'd expect it to be lower than the standard sets, espeicly since these are 2 ohm stock speakers, they awill be louder.
so are you sure theirs a problem? what kind of volume levels are we talking about?

I too noticed that my 06 doesn't necessarily get the loudest but I'd say it gets loud enough for being a stock system. Simply put the stock systems are cheaply produced, even my dad's truck with the bose system has speakers that have a paper cone. I'm in the process of installing a complete after market system minus the radio itself, that'll hopefully get louder and sound better. Amps will definitely help with the volume and quality issue.

I posted here, but apparantly the site ate my response.
First off, welcome to the site!
FYI, the Monte was not available with Bose stereo components. Not sure who makes them, but it isn't Bose.
My Monte has one of the best factory systems I have ever seen. Did you adjust the EQ like Monteman said? I was driving mine the other day and thought the stereo didn't sound right. Come to find out, I had it on the auto eq setting "talk" or "news" (can't remember which it is called.) The stereo in mine blows the bose system in my Tahoe right out of the water and the Tahoe has a factory sub (granted it is a little tiny one, but it still has one!) Try adjusting it if you haven't already. I have also heard but cannot confirm that the amp in the trunk is adjustable. Maybe you can check that. Good luck!:p

Sure is if you have the 6-disc changer installed and have the premium sound package. There were 3 different radio options for the Montes

I will try again.
The 2006 and 2007 Monte Carlos premium stereos were not built by Bose, but it was previously available on 2005 and older Montes. (not sure what the first year was, though. Maybe 2000??)

A new family of audio systems also debuts on the ’06 Monte Carlo . The three systems feature new, simple-to-operate radios that are compatible with the enhanced OnStar system. The base CD-radio includes a six-speaker system. An uplevel MP3/CD-radio is configured for XM Satellite Radio, with a two-line, 32-character reconfigurable display and the capability to select between AM, FM and XM stations without having to reset the frequency. An uplevel ICDX radio adds an in-dash six-CD changer. Monte Carlo also offers a premium Bose audio system.
All radios include a standard auxiliary input for external devices, such as an iPod or MP3 player, to be played through the vehicle’s audio system. The input is located in the lower right corner of each radio.

Also, if it did have Bose stereo in it, it would say bose on the speaker covers, which they do not.
