hey guys! quick question.. did the 6th gen Monte Carlos SS get upgraded speakers from the LS or LT models? Ive always been unsure. Are they the same as the ones in the 7th gen SS,LTZ or did the last 2 years of the monte get better speakers?

Im not real sure, my '03 LS factory speakers has a pretty good punch to them, more so than other Chevy's of that same year model. In fact several people hear it ask if there was a sub in the trunk.

 

There's a bose system but that's it.

The newer systems are different but they're still a crappy paper cone system.

I would think if it was Bose.... it would say "Bose" somewhere on the headunit.

 

The headunits stock? im asking if the speakers are bose? my buddy has a stock Challenger R/T with Boston Acoustics and it doesnt say it anywhere. on the Camaro RS it says "Boston Acoustics" on the speaker grill..

 

My 06 factory speakers in the SS don't really sound any better than the factory ones that were in my 03 SS, so that leads me to believe either they're the same or different but same quality level. I'm not sure though. I can say both cars have pretty good factory speakers and sound compared to a lot of other cars back at that time. For being factory, they sound pretty good.

 

It was a possible option... what amp do you have?

 

I thought it was ONLY the Dale Jr ones that were any kind of an upgrade over most of the SS's? I got a set from Morad and they thump I get asked what kind of sub I have all the time.

 

You must have some people riding that are new to car audio

You can get upgraded speakers in any vehicle, GM won't pass up a chance to get some extra money
