Default U bend delete needed?

OK I am sure that everyone out there is tired of answering this question. So What I was wondering if I take the u-bend out will it make my exhaust louder? I already have 40's Flowmaster and Resonator taken out. Will it be worth it to take out that u-bend? Will I feel a gain, and will I notice a difference in sound. I think it sonds good now, but it can always be better.

The Ubend will have you feel a slight gain in power, yes, and will help deepen the sound of your exhaust. It wont be major, so dont expect to be shaving off seconds off the 1/4 mile or anything!

Talked to an exhaust specialist who is known for his good work he said you wouldnt notice anything different and it will most likley void your cat warranty.

I've also heard that depending on the engine you have, it'll eliminate the needed backpressure and cause you to lose power.

I forget which engine that is though. Hopefully one of the other members can help on this one?

the 3400 was the one i was told not to do it to.

I do how ever know two other cars that have had it removed that were SS or 3800's

And i know there defently a diffrence between them and mine witch still hasent had it removed yet [:@][:@]

Till i had to get wheels i planed on doing it and the down tube here shortly. but back to the savings plan on that one LOL

Maybe like $75-90 at an exhaust shop, depending on what they all find to charge you for. Some places charge you for everything including the pipe, any stretching or bending to the pipe, welding, clamps, and labor; some might just ask for $50 and call it good. It all depends on the shop I guess. I haven't gotten mine out but I planto before spring.

Get a downpipe assembly used from clubgp. You will still have your cat warranty, it will have a larger downpipe, no ubend and you will notice a bit of jump off the line.
