Do you mean the downpipe.? The U-bend is further down than what you're describing.

Yours might be a small bend in the exhaust and not actually a restriction, not a crimped section that cuts the diameter in half like ours.

That is the down pipe off your headers, if you look at the pic posted by jerry the peice that is by the DD in daddy thats what it is

My theory on why it's like that is becuase of how the headers are they didn't want to shove a 90* bend right there that would result in restriction/added back preasure ect, so put a more gradual bend

As you can see in the pic off the speed daddy's it is a mandral drawn bend and not squished/flattened like a stock u bend so you do not have to worrie about it being restrictive
