Hey guys, quick question. Does a 2000 Monte Carlo SS have true duel exhaust? People are trying to tell me it's not but I don't want to believe them... and yes, I'm too lazy to look myself lol.

 

your friends are right... the pipes come together just behind the engine and go thru the cat, the u bend, the resonator, and then to a y pipe where it looks duel in the back. sorry to burst your bubble.

A true duel would be 6-2 or 6-2 with a crossover.

Yes you can make it a duel. You will not be able to fit both pipes hidden down the center console.

One or both will be exposed so lowering the car or hitting dips may pose a problem.

It won't sound that well either. You'd get more crackling and backfire.

We also debate here about the loss of backpressure.

it is a 572 BB. with twin turbos on it. i just wish i could find the rest of the info on the car. I found the picture one of those real late night adventures. I would love to find it in full size agian.
