Default true dual

I am thinking about putting true dual pipes on my 01 ss(all custom work of coarse). Now the question is what size piping should i go for? should i stick with the 2.5 or should i go lower? Any thoughts? Is there any difference is sound or sound with an X pipe or an H pipe?

not 100 percent sure, but i dont think we can use X pipes on our cars.....at least not without it sitting on the ground almost. just out of curiosity, why would you want true duals instead of cat-back?

I honestly don't think true duals would sound good on a V6. Hell I wouldn't even want it on my V8. I could be wrong though.

i really dont think that would sound good at all. before you do anything mayby get rid of your cat back for a while and drive around with that. see what you think before you have to live with the sound. (that would be the closest you could get to the same sound)

it would be damn near impossible to get true duals on thels4. there is no room what so ever.

I cant see there being enough room either but anything is possible. To my knowledge when it comes to pipes bigger is better lol. I would want true duals on a v8 though.

you dont want to go too big on your pipes. in order to maintain efficency and power, you dont want the hot gasses coming out of your engine to cool down. larger diameter pipes give space for the gases to cool down, colder gases are harder to push out the engine, thus taking away power. stick with 2.5" pipes if your n/a or stock supercharged. if you have a modded supercharged/turbocharged setup go with 3" piping.

some classic muscle cars would use like 3.5 or 4", but thats when they are pushing 500+ wheel horsepower....we wont be seeing that haha
