Default SLP headers and more...

I think I'm getting closer to finalizing my exhaust set up.

This is all on a 3800 V6 Monte.
3" all the way, planning for a L67 top swap.

SLP Coated Headers, $670+shipping, comes with the downpipe, which I've heard has a few minor issues, can anyone enlighten me?

Magnaflow cat, $60, unless someone suggests something else.

I'm not sure about the resonator, if I want one I'll get this Magnaflow one, or I could just not have one, not really sure there.

Finally, Hooker's Aero Chamber Muffler, $60, probably tucked up with a turndown unless someone suggests a cool set of tips to go with my car on a stock bumper with no valence or bodykit.

What do you guys think?

hmmm that's a nice looking monte that's for sure! lol, about the headers... zzp just made some new ones for our cars if you wanna check their site... if you can find anything used on clubgp.com go for it... i paid 400 for my pacesetter ceramic coated headers from zzp off of clubgp. they always have tons of parts on there for a lot less than factory retail obviously even if they are not used...

Yeah It'll be blown, so I'm going for the 3"

I really want a good set of tips, so I started looking at cat-backs, but I can't find any good videos of SLP's Powerflo Exhaust, anyone here running it?

Sounds like a decent setup, I suppose. I don't know enough about those 3.8L to tell how it will perform or sound. I'd personally get a could 3.5" Magnaflow stainless steel oval tips.

Something like these...

Thanks Rick/Ted...lol

I really like those tips, seems like they would fit the bumper mold nicely being an oval shape.

Ihave the SLP cat back system. No problems after 3 years or more. They aren't real loud but you definately can hear them. Very happy with them. I can't put a sound clip on here because I don't know how and don't have anything to record it with. Sorry, I'm just way behind technologically. It sounds kinda like "Vroom...vroom...vrooom" if that helps any. Typical V-6 sound.

Personally, I'd go with some SSAC or pacesetter headers off ebay- it should be half the price of those SLP's.

They should also be made of stainless (the ebay ones), where the SLP ones are made of mild steel I believe.
Save your money and go with the ebay ones.

I just had a pair of super 40's put on with quad tips. looks awsome and am very pleased with the sound. Will try to get some pics up for all to see.
I like the quad tips because they fill the bumper out nicely.

Oh yeah and the car is a 2000ss
