Is this a rip off?
So the guy that hooked me up with my exhaust originally I sent my mom too, to see if I could get a deal on installing the Cat. He's saying $300 to install the cat, welded maybe cheaper if it's cash. does this sound fair?

300 i would probably smack him in the face. hes trying to take advantage. I was in the exhaust industry for 8 years visiting shops all around chicago and have never heard of any shop charging that much to weld in a cat. call around to other places, and if all else fails clamp it in. your using a universal i assume because it needs to be welded in. It will most likely start to fail in about a year or so depending on who makes it and what you have done to your car. Oh, and if you insist on welding it in, find a small one man shop and talk to him, stay away from corporations. Hope this helps!

If I walked into my muffler shop with 2 MUfflers and said hey weld these on for me...
He'd only charge me $50.00 bucks...and thats cutting off the old ones at the same time...
$300.00 is definately a Rip Off!

^^what he said. Heck I can provide mufflers and get complete duals ran on the 71 for $175

$300 is high for an OBD2 cat. $150+ is normal.

Hi `Just'in,
It's very sad, but there are some (many) people out there that will take advantage of others
The price is way `high if he is not supplying the cat & install @ that price...If it's already done, then just learn another hard lesson in life (not 2 repeat) & move on to living & enjoying `life..
I believe (or want to believe in a judgment day 4 `all..)
