Default question for a friend

well my friend has a 2000 with the 3400 and hes got this great idea for a custom exhaust setup and for this he wont be able to plug in the rear 02 sensor(the one after the cat)will this be a problem cause hes getting a programmer and he can delete the code that it is going to set off, will it be a problem if he doesnt have the code removed right away??

The rear O2 sensor does not affect the car's performance AT ALL. It will just trip the P0420 code and because of that possibly fail inspection. All the rear O2 does it make sure the Cat is working properly. The front O2 sensor could mess with your tune

Why wouldn't he be able to plug in the rear O2? IMO, if he kept a normal cat on there, then I'd prefer to leave the rear O2 in so you know if something goes wrong with it.

Obviously it would be different if he did a cat delete or a high flow cat that didn't meet the OEM specs.

will this be a problem cause hes getting a programmer and he can delete the code that it is going to set off
What programmer is he getting? Not every programmer allows you to disable reporting of the codes- the cheap ones can usually only reset codes (which would mean it would still fail emissions).

Better have him check and make sure his programmer will do it then, or post up here and we can tell you. No sense in buying a tuner, and still having to send your pcm in for someone else to turn off the code.
