Angry not too happy. i need some help

Well i could really use some help here. I was under my car today painting my mufflers and i looked at my downpipe. Well it looked a little bigger in diameter that the inlets and outlets of my mufflers? I decided to measure the in/out lets of the mufflers and it turnsout theyre only 2 fkn inches?? Now, this is kind of a problem cause my piping under the car is 2.6". And i dont think im reaching the full potential of my exhaust. What do you think? Should i get new mufflers that are 2 and a half inches?? By the way, Just so i know, what is the stock size on the piping going to the mufflers? (well muffler when its stock?) I also need to know what size pipes and in/outlet i need to reach the full potential of my exhaust. Please help me out here guys, if i have 2.6" piping going to 2" in/outlets is this basiclly pointless?? If someone could just give me the basic layout of (diameter size in inches) of what the exhaust needs to be, i would be very grateful. Thanks all.

2.5" exhaust feeding dual 2" is ok. As long as your 2" size is only after it splits into a Y for your dual mufflers- you don't need single 2.5" feeding dual 2.5".

Yeah you should be fine. I knew a guy who kept mostly stock exhaust tubing (minus the res and new muffs) and he was able to run a 14.8 with a NA 3800 build for his Monte.

yeah, i forgot that it would make quite a big difference if its going to dual instead of a single outlet. ive been out of my mind the last couple of days.
