Default New Exhaust on 06 SS

Just got back from the exhaust shop and it was music to my ears. I took the resonator off and put flowmaster on. Sounds great. Let me know how to put video clips on and I will post some.

Who cares about 4 cylinder mode, by the time it kicks in 4 cyl mode, you will be long gone! LOL

Or, you can drive in "3" like I do and it will NEVER go into 4 CYL Mode!

If you get a Diablo Predator tune for your car you can turn off the DoD option, and to be honest with it might use a little more gas in town, but on highway the gas mileage is almost the same. I have no idea where the got an estimated 28 hwy, personally i've never got that mileage. The best i got for a long ride was 25mpg but i think that is still good for the power this car has.

i can get 25hwy on mine eaily, tha tis not the question it should be do you get it ? ?HELL NO~!!!!!!!
i put my foot in to it to much.

but for those who want to know how to achive this. with agood tune on your car and new plugs etc...
put the car on the hwy and set the cruse at 55mph. and go for a drive . it should get your there on relativly flat ground. remeber your foot no matter how much controll you think you have will never get the same millage as a crusecontroll will

Four cylinder mode really dont sound bad. Kinda reminds me of a corvette at an idle. As for the 28 mpg I get about 26 on the highway. Figured not bad considering I am in Wyoming way above sea level.

Mickey, I am not saying that i could not achive better gas mileage, of course on mainly level ground with speeds at 55 mph with cruise control on i would get good gas mileage. I was just stating that with the 5.3 litre V-8 engine i dont believe that the epa estimate was accuratewith driving under everyday conditions meaning hills, wind resistance etc.

I turned off the 4 cyl mode option with my tuner and did a test run on the same stretch of road for approx 80 miles and did not see much difference in total mileage whether it cruises in 4 cyl or 8 cyl.

So instead of driving in a lower gear you can turn it off with the diablo predator and cruise in the overdrive mode in 8 cyl at lower rpms. On level ground in 8cyl mode with cruise controll on the inst. mpg gauge reads between 26-30 mpg.

yeah i would hope with all those gismo's the new cars have they would get better mpg.... my old 96 Z34 with 167,000 miles on her!gets over 25 mpg highway. but she gets about 17-18mpg city with me and my heavy foot. i havent taken a long road trip lately to see her actual HW mpg... i recently have been doing alot of tuning to the car. (see other post i have on spark table) and not only has Power increase but so has mpg. adjusting spark is just using the extra fuel that is there to make the additional power... once i hit the ceiling for spark advance then i can start triming back fuel in areas that dont need as much and vola! ppperrfict economy and power! tuning is your best friend!
