well i just got off the phone with the muffler shop and listen to this load of BS he spewed.

"well sir the resonator is there for a reason and removing it will not add to sound or power in fact it will be quieter and cause engine problems, *me* umm ok yeah well what about re placing the u bend with a straight piece of pipe? *them* well sir that u bend is there to offset the size of the o2 sensor and if i put a straight pipe there ill have to drill though your floorboard to make clearance *me* well why cant you just put it on the side of the pipe then? *them* because sir theres not enough room* *me* *coughbull****cough* well sir ill let you know thanks

call another shop, thats rediculous...obviously he just didn't want to do it...you almost need to call the little exhaust shop guy that does all the stainless stuff on the older cars...they're usually the best

This might sound stupid but why does GM put the u-bend there in the first place?????????????
Actually it was a simple and decent idea at the time.... they wanted to protect the oxygen sensor mouted above it from debres on the road.

well actually i was talkin about the ubend that goes from the front manifold over the tranny into the back manifold haha, i dunno why but my car doesnt have this thank god and if it does its gonna be gone but i could swear ive never seen it there.

so to be more specific i want a pic of the exhaust manifolds on the engine and the u bend it does to connect together

thanks yall
I think you are talking about the crossover pipe. The front manifold connectes to a crossover pipe (over the transmission). I beleive the rear manifold also connects to this pipe which connects to the downpipe. I am not positive on the rear manifold but will know this weekend when I get my SLP Headers on.

Hear you can get some good looks at the crossover and some general good info on the exhaust.
