Default Magnaflow on 2006 SS

I just purchased my 2006 Monte Carlo SS this past weekend and got the Magnaflow catback Exhaust installed today....It sounds just perfect to me. Not too loud at idle, not even at part throttle, but at full throttle, it sounds very nice, strong & deep with no backrattle/rumble associated with many other muffler types. When you're off the throttle, the Magnaflows are too. It is noticeably meaner sounding just driving around town, so it will turn some heads

The exhaust techs had to make some minor adjustments to the pipes in order to make them line up perfect, but the install only took about 1 hour and looks excellent. The entire system is stainless steel too, making it superior to the rusting stock pipes & mufflers. Thumbs up for Magnaflows on V8 Monte Carlos.

I'm glad you like that set up. I wanted to get the Magnaflow catback for my 05 from GMpartsdirect, but for some reason it doesn't list the 05 Monte so I am not going to take any chances. My fiance just put a Magnaflow catback system on his 92 Camaro Z28 and it looks and sounds awesome! When I ever get a job I am going to get an SLP system for the 05 - all stainless.

Glad to hear that, I got my Magnaflow Cat-back installed two months ago and I love it. It really does sound 110% better than stock.

Post some pic's of the new exhaust.

Glad to hear you're happy with the Magnaflow Cat-back. I would love to buy it, but just wish it wasn't so expensive. I don't think it's worth it. I'm going to try to achieve similar results for a much lower price. I'll keep every one posted.

You are right, it wasn't cheap. Most places are selling it for $760, but I got mine for $625 brand new in the box. Considering it is 100% stainless steel, mandrel bent, includes all hardware, the resonator & tips, I think it's a fair price when compared to other catback exhausts for other cars....I would not normally spend that much $$ on a cat-back, but I heard a few clips of this system on YouTube and I was sold. Sounds even better in person

After driving it again today and turning heads every time I got on it, I must say this thing sounds VERY strong. It's an exhaust sound I have not heard on any of my previous V8 cars. I simply love it and highly suggest it to any V8 Monte SS owner

Man I wish they made v8's for the 00-05 models

Glad you like your exhaust though!

Yeah... Like I said, I would LOVE to get the Magnaflow Cat-back, but I just can't justify the high cost. I'm glad you're happy with it. You're right though, you can't go wrong with mandrel bent, stainless steel.

Try to get another sound clip for us!

I don't have a way to get a sound clip or video uploaded, but here is a link to what sold me. There are 4-5 videos of a 2007 Monte SS with a new Magnaflow installed. The video is crap, but the sound is exactly what the exhaust sounds like "live" (I have good speakers, so things sound very real). Watch all of the videos from the same guy "dooneybaby". There are a couple vids of the guy getting into the throttle and that is what it really sounds like - bad ***!

Sounds freakin' sweet at high rpms. Too quite for me at the low rpms though.

glad you like your magnaflow cat back!

i have the magnaflow cat back on my 03, it just doesnt sound like yours.

youtube is a great place to really hear what your car can sound like before you buy, i did the same thing.

i just wasnt happy with the flowmasters or dynomax. magnaflow was the choice, and im happy. it sounds great at mid-high rpms.
