LS modification questions

Default LS modification questions

ok so i was hopin to bounce some ideas off yall or get suggestions. first off i want a dual exhaust, that has priority BUT i also want to get some other upgrades in the same time performace wise, try to get the most bang for my buck. my budget is 1000-1200 bucks. and yea its an 2005 LS 3.4. any suggestions welcome so i can have my parts at my house when i get back from afghanistan.

3.4 + peformance = 3.8 swap, the 3.4 has no real aftermarket support

im not trying to go that extreme with it, i love the car the way it is but i would like just a lil more horsepower and or acceleration

I wouldn't call the swap too extreme, but I wouldn't be doing it in my backyard. But your $1200 can probably buy you and nice donor car - maybe even supercharged!

well its extreme for the time fram that i get to be home.... and im open to the donor car idea, but i am attached to this monte as my daily driver lol. just lil simple stuff would be cool. ie exhaust intake pcm etc.

well how much would it cost to get an L67 put in? plus the cost of the engine itself...

If you install the engine yourself, all that you have to pay for is the engine. That's the best way to go.

i would love to replace it myself BUT, it be very hard to do it with my job and that bein my primary means of transportation when i come home.... and the L67 will be a straight bolt up to my already existing tranny correct?
