Default kits for the 3400

I just checked in with the shop i wanted to get my exhaust done at and unfortunatley they cant custom make the set up. Im going to have to find a kit, which i was dreading because they all seem to be over priced. I found a GM kit that im not too thrilled about on summit racing, ( id like to keep the cost under 700 ). Other kits ive found in that price range usually just say " will fit 00-05 monte carlos " but that means it would include both 3400 and 3800 models, and the guy i talked to at the shop didnt think the kits would be universal to SS models and LS models. Anyone have any kits to recomend or have further information on wether or not these kits will fit on both models?

There ya go. And in order to put that dual pipe on the LS just read, it will tell you what you need, but any good shop should be able to weld you up a new hanger for the left side.

(ps it's a magnaflow)

I think thats BS...why can't he make a custom exhaust for you? Mine used to be single output, and I had an exhaust shop make a custom dual exhaust set up with Magnaflows for $350 out the door....I'd try a differnt exhaust shop.

yeah thats what i said, and i asked if he knew of a place that could make a custom exhaust for me around here and he completley denied it. I think i will look around a little more, like you said i have seen people on youtube with set ups that said a shop did for them for 300 bucks. Thanks for the link also blacksheep

all you really gotta do is get a flowmaster super 40, or something that you like, then get the biggest pipes you can get from whoever welds it and then just grab some chrome tips that you like, its the same thing as a system just cheaper, buying a whole system is just for people that are to lazy to figure it out kinda lol

Hell, for the 3.4 I might even think to keep it 2.25"

yeah i know, i just wanted a y pipe to branch off to duel and run back to two 40 series flowmasters, which is essentially a flowmaster kit, except it doesnt carry a 1100 price tag, or a resinator. Were your local shops just in your area or were they a nation wide branch like VIP? And id just go with 2.5, thanks again for that link blacksheep thats the cheapest kit ive found and a good brand, im intrested to see what the shops " research " they were going to do for me will result in, because i garauntee the kit you showed me beats anything they find.

everybody around here has trucks, we are pretty rural and most of us need them...including me...but i decided against it when i bought my LS when gas was 4 dollars a gallon. Theres pros and cons, its a pain not having one when you need one, but its nice to know that even your 3.4 v6 can beat the majority of these slow trucks lol.
