Default K&N vs. Cold Air Inductions

Is there really a huge difference between K&N intakes and Cold Air Inductions? If so, what is it and which is better?

K&N looks better (IMO) but the heat-shield is a joke.

CAI is a fully insulated box and brings in better cold air.

for the K&N, IMO you pay for the name pretty much, and yes the heat shield is a joke! the whole setup seems cheap (isn't everything plastic?) except for the filter. i will admit that K&N does build a good filter.

go with the CAI, insulated AND sealed aluminum box all the way around. IMO i think the CAI box looks better under the hood too. i think the prices are similar too.

Definitely go with the Cold Air Inductions intake. Its better quality, and and more effective. IMO the cold air inductions one looks better too. It adds a nice aluminum accent to the engine bay.

I have a K&N on my truck, which does work well too, but when it come right down to it, the CAI intake is better.

My only concern with Cold Air Inductions was the speed of delivery. It took my order of a system 3+ weeks to be made and then sent.

Also, be careful when putting on the lid with the CAI brand, one slip of the screw driver and its a nice scratch on the finish. I should know. And now I am waiting for a new lid...

Yea if you buy a cold air inductions intake, buy it directly from www.coldairinductions.com don't buy it from MPD, Inc. Its more expensive there, and takes FOREVER to ship.

I will say, its definitely worth the wait for the cold air inductions CAI, it is a great product.

Default Cai.........

I really like my Wizaired CAI that I have. it it only took about a week if that long to get it. www.zzperformance.com
They have another type there as well. The ZZP CAI. They're both good. You can go to my thread " Installed Wizaired...." and see for yourself. But there are several others. Go to the "SEARCH" menu
and key in CAI. You shuld be able to get a good idea of what you want ?

I got a Cold Air Inductions CAI today, I ordered it monday, so it got here quick. I also only got that standard UPS ground shipping. I absolutely love it so far, couldn't believe the difference! I definitely recommend the intake from CAI!

If you have an 00-05 with a 3400/3800 wizaired is the way to go.

If you have an 06/07 with a 3.5/3.9/5.3 then Cold air inductions is the way to go.
