Default K&N drop-in air filter

Have any of you L67 supercharged 3800 guys put in a drop-in K&N filter? I was debating on that or a cold-air intake but a full cold air kit is $200 compared to about 35 bucks for a K&N.. And I'm a real tight-*** when it comes to my money lol. I just want to hear the supercharger whine, I could really care less about seeing a full intake under my hood. Wasn't sure if I'd be able to hear the supercharger whine with a drop-in K&N or if I'd have to get a full intake....

The drop-in doesn't let in enough air to hear that supercharger wine

And if you do look at CAI's, do NOT get the K&N FIPK

Just out of curiosity, why not the K&N FIPK? I have had pretty good luck with K&N's on past vehicles... What cold air intake system do you recommend for the L67?

ZZ Performance Wizaired CAI is the best to get - the K&N (because it doesn't have a lid) lets in hot air.

Not a bad little set-up for the price. I don't know much about ZZP's credibility as I am fairly new to this forum, but it looks like a decent buy.

ZZP is a very large leader in aftermarket for our cars.

Basically my whole car's build is from them.
