need to be more specific? what kit did you get? what year is your car? i dont see why performance would be different if the finish is. should be the same, its just for looks.
I think the chrome one, being metal, would be hotter, making the incoming air hotter and thus affect the HP gain, but in reality, how much loss would there be? If you're not running a full out race car, I think I'd go for looks as the deciding factor.
Mine was black, but I spray painted it red and gained 3 hp. But, like I said in my earlier post, that's not much difference. I am planning on pulling the engine and painting it red also, hoping to gain at least 10 hp from that. And my brake calipers are red andthat decreased stopping distance by 14 feet.I replaced the ***** on my radiowith some red ones and didn't notice it being any louder, but I do pick up more stations now......
