What does it mean when a 2000 Monte Carlo engine light flashes

 

Misfires that can damage the engine.

 

Agreed - it means park the car until you can fix the issue.

 

Is it running rough?
starting and cranking longer than usual?
coolant low?
as said above misfire,, question is why?

 

My question is this when was the last time the plug and wirhave been changed? I know the talor type of wires are a good replacement i use them with ngk iridiom spark plug. Second look into getting it scanned. The cam position sensor might be bad or the crank one. After you do the plugs and wires. Get it scanned one of or both of the sensors might be going bad. So do the basic first to know the base line of qhat it not needs. After everything has been done you might know a little more on where you stand. The talor wires i run are a better ohm wires.
