Default High Velocity Intake manifold insert from zzp!!

Has any one installed or know anything about zzps hv3 high velocity intake insert. It says its an easy 30 hp at 6000rpms but idk if its worth 200 bucks. it looks like it would make a difference by clearing up the air space in the intake manifold since the stock piece is so bulky.....

I have one, installed it at the same time as rockers and my front powerlog.

All of that definitely improved my highway power.

I'm actually installing one this weekend to finish off my n/a setup...

It goes gasket, HV3, and Manifold.
I hope it pulls a bit more with all the supporting mods I have.
SLP 1.8 Rocker arms and push rods
SLP headers
SLP CIA (working plenum this weekend)
Borla Cat back
SLP hi flow
ZZP HVTB 68mm
Intense PCM
180 stat
PRJ's 1+ hp for looks...lol...jk

I hear it's pretty damn good with supporting mods, but it's NOT a flat 30 WHP across the chart...Maybe a spike of 30 WHP...

I have HV3, Rockers, Plog+ZZP Downpipe (keep SOME low-end torque), CAI, GMPP Cat-Back, ZZP HVTB, Custom Tune, and 180°

I can tell you it's good :P

And it's strictly an AT HIGHER RPMS thing, stock 3800s HP drops very low in the high RPMs, it's all about low-end torque. It just simply brings the powerband all together.

Yeah I assumed it was... I just hope I don't notice a low end loss, too much...

I'm mostly a highway runner anyway, I just love chasing down a R/T's when they hit there limiters...hahahaha I just keep going and going, when they peg... hoping this will keep me going even longer... : ))

I'm doing a tune up at the same time, should run fresh.

Did you disgard the little tube inside the UIM?

I would imagine the headers gave you all the low-end loss you'll get. You shouldn't feel anymore.

Here's how I did my HV3 install: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2055875/5

I bought it when it first came out. To be honest though, I've never seen any dyno comparing the gains with the HV3 and having no intake insert at all. I'm kind of curious about that. Maybe I'll get a chance to test it out sometime.

The HV3 is a very easy install and you can just discard the tube in there.

I heard of a better intake manifold insert... the M90

guaranteed to add 40 whp, and you're already more than 1/4 there with the price of the HV3
