personally i feel most scoops dont look right and are not functional.

bumpin96 was telling me that downpipes and cats on newer cars arent as restictive as the 6th gen. plus they are very expensive.

i would love a body kit, but i would require a lift along with it cause the roads are so bad around here.

stripes are cool if done right. what color is your monte???
what color stripes do you want???

i belive they make headers for the 5.3, but there not cheap at all.

new mufflers and pipes are always welcomed. 2,5 is the right size too

it must be nice to ask for a grand worth of stuff for you b day. wanna switch lives???

I had the same problem back in february. I had about 1500 to spend on my 80 Monte.
Instead I got a bunch of tools to help me on my rebuild. They will also make me money later workin on other peoples rides.
Hope you have a great b-day and you enjoy what ever it is you get.

ok one of these (all metal)
http://www.airbagit.com/SearchResult...ch=hood+scoops

i like the first three. But I want the last one, but its way too long for the hood (46 and 1/2). might end up getting the 1st one.

pipes i had priced at $275 (2.5) using my old FM 44's and i just purchased 4 inch SLP tips.

stripes+ scoop install maybe $500.

not too bad IMO. thoughts? especially about the scoops.

However, I never have seen the inside of the downpipe for a 5.3- not sure if they use the same size downpipe for it as the other engines- if so, it wouldn't hurt to replace it.

I like the idea of headers, but if you didn't get in on the group buy, you're gonna pay $1000 which is pretty steep.
