Default Found an installer for the headers today

Some members wanted to know about the install progress on the headers for the Deuce.

I went to Muffler Man this morning (don't let the cheesy name fool you)

What brightened my spirits was a 56 t-bird setting in his shop (This guy does classics I thought) the owner has a Chevy II show car himself

He quoted me a price of about 5 hours labor meaning $300 - $400 bucks (his exact word where bring $400 you will get some cash back)

I can bring the car in the end of March No problem

I bring it in the morning and pick it up at night (Kool)

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Enhanced Performance shop quote

$500 bucks,

He needs the car now before he gets busy meaning I have to drive the Deuce in nasty weather

He wants the car for at least a week.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Mason Muffler and Brake

Price (He wouldn't quote depends on how long it takes)
Bad conceited attitude
The shop was a dump

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++

Shaheen Chevy

Wont touch the job

So looks like the Deuce will be going to Muffler Man the end of March (please don't laugh)

I'm surprised you wouldn't just put headers on yourself very simple to do just a little time consuming sometimes.

I would, except for the rear bank on a LS4 you need to be under the car. I don't have access to a hoist and ain't getting under her with just jack stands.

Also the down pipe needs some welding, I don 't have a welder and don't know how to weld.

I didn't have welder either when I got mine on drove it to muffler man louder than ever for them to weld real quick. Afraid of jack stands? Can be dangerous I never use just leave on the jack and have always been ok.

Great to hear Tadd... Always good to make a connection with a car enthusiast instead of just a mechanic, also good, but not as good...

You should let ZZP know that their "recommended installer" sucks. They actually might want to know since they send business there.

I hope the Muffler Man does a great job for ya!

When Tadd was looking for an installer, I recommended he contact ZZP since they aren't far from him. ZZP doesn't install his headers, but they recommended "Enhanced Performance" as an authorized installer in his area.

I just think maybe they might like to know the people they recommend don't have great shop ethics. A job is a job, and if you can't fit it in a normal schedule, you shouldn't ask for a car for an extended period of time just to get to it when you can.
