Default Flowmaster 40's or super 44's?

I have a 2002 monte carlo ss 3.8L and have stock dual exhaust on it. I have custom pipes and tips but i need to know which muffler will give me the deepest sound towards a v8 and also some power gain. Ive narrowed it down to Flowmasters but i dont know if i should get the 40's or the super 44's. Any suggestions? Or any better choices?

okay... sounds like a good plan. i'm by no means the flowmaster expert around here (as a matter of fact, i'm the anti-flowmaster guy around here), but i think the main difference is how loud tehy are... with the 40 being louder?

i'd recommend going on youtube and streetfire.net and listening to cars that have that muffler. but don't just listen to one car, listen to many cars. different quality and types of cameras, and where the videographer places the camera makes some difference on how that clip sounds. listen to the muffler on various cars, including your own. then, make a decision based on personal preference

If your looking for that muscle car sound, look to Walker Mufflers ( Dynomax) or Borla's.
With Cowboy I am also Anti-Blowmaster and they do have a sound pretty much all its own, but you can re create it with coffee cans.
That is not a V-8 sound!!
