finally got my cai intake in the monte!

I also have the CAI from Cold Air Inductions and I am very happy with its performance. The only problem I have with the product was no matter what I did I could not get rid of the gap between the metal frame and the enclosed box itself. I can see by the pics in this thread that JOEYKL66 is also having that happen.
If I may add, I don't think the small gap hurts performance in anyway but look wise it may bother some.
BILL if you are reading this. I was the member last year from Toronto where you dropped the product off for me at the post office in Memphis, Mich for pickup. Im the guy who sent you the pics of the Black powder coated CAI for the 2006 SS which you are using on your site. I emailed you about the problem and you sent me the following reply..
[quote]> Matt,

> There should be 3 rubber bumper pads on the box, the airbox does have
those pads correct?
Also make sure you have the clips from the installation packet in the
correct orientation, if they are incorrect it can result in the box
being loose. Refer to the installion instructions.
> Also the 2 holes that the bolts go thru should be longated so that you
> can get the box together, keep the bolts loose and move it where it
> needs to be, then take the lid off tighten it down and put the lid
back on.
I hope that this helps, thanks for the pics.

It looks like there are a few people that are having this issue..any other suggestions or fixes for this?
