Hope someone here can help. I have an 06 LS and need a new exhaust system. The previous owner of the car put a crappy welded pipe where the "Y" pipe should be and a crappy pipe and muffler on the drivers side to give the car "dual" outlets. This contraption has rust out completely and therefore it's time to fix it.

I was considering replacing the whole system as the stock muffler may not be in the best shape at it's age. I was looking at a "Y" pipe and two stock mufflers setup. Would go back to single exhaust since it's cheaper and I don't care about "rumble" or anything.

My question is about the "Y" pipe. Would this fit on my car? I see it has an extra hanging point near the "Y" and I don't see that on my LS. Would it be OK to just forget about this point and hang the pipe by the single hanger point of the stock pipe? Or would it need this?
