Default Exhaust options

I have a 05 monte lt 3.8L and I was looking into getting exhaust done. I looked on YouTube and saw couple mean montes! I'm considering going with a zzp 2.5 downpipe, resonator delete, and flowmaster 40's. But I don't know whether to Get the zzp downpipe with a cat or not. Let me know what u think this set up would sound like. Any advise will help. Thanks!

No reason not to get a cat, most exhaust places won't touch your car if you don't have one

I don't care about emissions I was wondering if I didn't have the cat it would sound like a ricer. Or if it would b too raspy.

Does your local law car about emissions? Some shops don't touch cars without cats.

Not having a cat shouldn't make a lot of rasp, the resonator and mufflers are your rasp points.

I know a lot of people who have removed their cat so I don't think there is a law.
I'm worried that if I remove the cat it would sound like crap because I know the 3800's don't sound good too loud.

The sound is mostly from the resonator and mufflers. Try the downpipe first, then worry about the cat-back if you want louder.

try switching out the resonator for a smaller one first... see how you like it and go from there... then the mufflers if you want louder

Would replacing the resonator with a glass pack reduce rasp? If so which resonator?
