Just wondering but how do yall think taking out the muffler and leaving in the resonator would sound?
Just an idea

 

that is basically what i plan to do later this week.. only i already got a glasspack in place of the resonator. i'll let you know..

Back in the 60's, when Chevy came out with the 409 with 4 on the floor ... we'd have Lake Pipes welded-in right at where the system entered the Header. We put a bend in it and had it come-out under the car just about where the hinges are at the doors. The Lake Pipe was capped-off with a triangular plate which we would just take off completely for the Strip and then just leave opened slightly for the street.

I imagine that you can't do this now-a-days, what with the Cat Converter and all ... but, there was that sweet music of listening to an engine getting revved-up and stomped-on, in the distance, on those warm Summer nights ... when you had a Hot Rod all tricked-out and were looking for somebody to race.

These days, I'm happy just getting the damn High Beams on and hitting the open road with the wife on a little jaunt across the MassPike to go visit her momma.

How much fun am I gonna have this next time over in a Tuned-up 04 Monte with Leather Seats, a few CD's and a 60-Degree V6 winding-out on the Pike?

 

well its not wroth it to me on dialup to wait a month for a 40mb video to upload, so i took the audio off the exhaust vid of my car and added 2 pics, you will hear it but not see it and thats good enuf until i get high speed

I wouldn't do just straight pipes, it's moreof a truck thing if youask me. If you want something loud but with a good tone go with Flowmaster Super 44, res. delete and high flow cat.

 

Pretty loud. Sounds like it means business though. I imagine when you really get on it it will roar, ... huh? That might get you a ticket in Massachusetts. I didn't have the exhaust that loud on my Camaro and got pulled-over bu a State Trooper for inadequate exhaust. It all depends on how they are enforcing the law where you are.

 

When I had my straight pipes on my S10, I got pulled over once by a state tropper in town, and also had the cops called on me a couple times.
