Go to an exhaust shop and give them your budget and your plans.

Flowmaster44s sound pretty decent on the LQ1

right now my car just has the mufflers cut off and i like the sound. but would it be louder if i had a custom cat back system made for it with 2.5'' pipe and no resonator? i have a really unique idea for how to route the tips.

The only thing louder would be to take off the resonator, or run open headers lol

I dont recommed removing the resonator. I have a 2.5" stainless catback without the resonator and two flomaster mufflers. I like the sound under acceleration, but it has a good amount of drone while cruising along. I plan on replacing the resonator in the future.

im not running any mufflers right now. just 2 pieces of pipe welded on where i cut the mufflers off. when income taxes get here im planning on doing a custom cat back. idk if ill mess with the resonator or not. i have been wondering what kind of tips to do though. i still have the factory tips but they arent the best looking now. if i have enough money i might do quad tips right in the middle under the license plate. i think that would be pretty cool and unique bc i havent seen it on another monte carlo. any input or suggestions? all are welcome

Make sure you get stainless steel for the whole cat-back.

You can keep the resonator, just go to a smaller one.

If they are stock mufflers, probably not as much as you would think.
