Default Exhaust Flames... Really?

Is this possible on the 3800 N/A?? Im asking because I was at autozone today picking up some rocker switches to install for my vac gauge and here comes some guy in an SS who claims he can spark flames with his flowmasters. He says hes got the offroad downpipe and all that good stuff so its the basic setup of piped from the manifolds back into the flows?? Now, the only thing that sets this apart from a common aftermarket exhaust for the 3800, is hes got the flows with 3.5" inlet and outlet... Done ask ME why, but its true, I did see that one. Anyway, is it possible, if so, what has to be done in order for this to be true. Is it in face because of the larger than normal inlet/outlet diameter? I didnt think it was possible to accomplish this on a V6 that isnt HEAVILY modded. All hes got is the exhaust and a filter on his MAF sens.

BTW: Thanks to Trewyn15 for the idea on where to install the rocker switches, and if anyone wants to see pics, let me know and Ill post some pics... Yeah, I know most of you think my vacuum gauge is stupid, but I love watching the needle move around, and the 7 different colors of LED's isnt bad either. SO MIND YUH BIDNAZZZZ!!!!!!!! JK of course

i know of an engine but it was a v8. and there wasnt any cat on the exaust pipe, it basically lit from the exaust and had a spark plug wired with a switch to give it power.
idk about that setup though couldnt tell you

Well this is the whole reason Im asking is because I didnt actually see it. Its just if it IS possible with a straight through muffler with larger diameter mufflers, A friend wanted to give it a try. But he was saying it was from the engine.
And I have seen this on a VERY lightly modded I5 before. But yeah, I didnt see it.

i could see it on a skinnier pipe because then the fumes would be more ignitiable then a thicker pipe. if u kinda get what im talking about

The smaller pipes do make sense. But the guy didnt sound like he was lying or nothing. Cant think of why he would lie though? If he was gonna lie about somthing, there are plenty, more belivable things to lie about? IDK whatever I guess.

flame thrower kit? but you have to have excess fuel coming out the pipes for that.

and no problem on the rocker switch placement =p

Yeah, I got 3 of the switches in there now and got two more to put in as soon as I find somthing to hook them up to. They pretty cool two are red and 3 are blue. LED lighted (when on) and bright as hell.
