what were the conditions of this dyno test? what else was done to the car besides the u bend delete? the best example i cna give is that intaek thing on zzperformance.... 30 more hp on top of what thecargot withcamshaft and rockers.... will the u bend delete really help unless you go on and take out the cats and the resonator pipes?

A car like yours that already has an upgraded exhaust would see more benefit from the ubend delete than one with the stock poop-chutes...

A car with forced induction would see much better gains than one that is naturally aspirated...

Bottom line... if I had the ubend in my car... it would be the first thing I got rid of....

Any Monte that has a Ubend should have it pulled. Best horsepower per dollar gain.

I agree that the Ubend should be done relatively early in modifications...

its a cheep mod too... you dont need to buy a part online! just go to a local exhaust shop tell them to cut that section out and weld in a straight pipe with a bung for the O2 sensor. prob like $25 but no more then $40.

yes the bends themselfs are what slows the velocity of the air. just like mufflers... thats why borla and magnaflow givemore performance then flowmaster.... B and M have a straight thru design with no internal baffles that would twist and otherwise slow the airflow down.
