I'm wanting to purchase an exhaust or mufflers for my 03 monte, but i want it to sound great. I personally love the v8 sound and i want to know what exhaust will get me there the quickest without costing an arm and a leg. How loud are the dynomax super turbos compared to the stock mufflers.

 

My bro has the dynomax mufflers on his camaro, and i think they sound really good. i have flowmaster 40 series on my 98 monte and i am happy with them. hope this helped. by the way, his camaro was a v6 and sounded really deep with those mufflers.

 

If you want a sound close to a V8 go with the flow 40's and replace your resonator with a glasspack or a high flow race muffler. Don't forget to get rid of that Ubend while your down there.

 

How much like a v8 is the question i wouldnt want it to sound wierd when you get passed 4000-4500 rpms

 

you have a 98 with flowmasters? how do you like the sound? What it if you removed the resonator and what is that other small looking muffler like thing by the converter? I would like to install a 40 series muffler right by the converter and do away with the resonator by the wheel and the two mufflers out back? what do you think would this work?

I have not been brave enough to yank the resonator (yet) because this is my DD. I've heard from more than one person that by replacing the resonator with a glass pack or high flow race muffler you will get close to a V8 sound.
