Default dual exhaust MOD

Of course i have the bear bones 3.4 ls. I want to get the Y pipe that would turn it into dual exhaust with 2 magnaflow mufflers. Anyone know the part number or where I can get the split y pipe?

zzp has a y pipe, but you should check around your local exhaust/muffler shops.
good luck.
Trewyn was saying that this y pipe is even restrictive, i am not sure.
but do your research.

for the y pipe for the montes that would come stock check this. walker exhaust part 53202.

heres a link for the cheapest price. it is aluminized steel so you might have to paint it to slow rusting if your in a state that salts.

i wasnt trying to rip on something that you were posting but it looks to me that where it first splits it looks like it would be a little restrictive. but i havent had any first hand experience with it

That will not fit my car according to the vehicle checker.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Walke...-/330489320364

look at that auction it has all of the cars at the bottom, the exhaust for the 3800 and the 3400 are exactly the same up until where the y pipe would be because of the LS models only having 1 tail pipe.

that is the same as what i listed, if you were to search for a monte carlo ss in the first link it would say that it would fit.

i would use grill as in grill some stakes type of grill paint it is made to take the heat and put up with the elements better than regular type of spray paint. to cover the welds on the y pipe

I knew you weren't. I was actually giving him a heads up on the opinion you had stated, so he was aware that it might be restricting, and to look at his local options.

you can also use engine enamel paint, its good up to like 700 degrees i think and then one good to like 1500 degrees, i used the lower one and so far so good, the pipes dont get too overly hott. but grille paint also works fine, idk which one would be cheaper, but would be something to check into if your on a budget

By january, im looking at replacing my" Y" pipe with a single in-dual out cherry bomb muffler. Maybe you should consider doing that. It will be restrictive because of the baffles, but more free flowing than the standard single. Its straight through, just baffled. Or maybe if you could wait till then, ill let you have my stock" Y" pipe for price of shipping.
