Default cold air intake and exhuast

I have 2 questions. i would like to put a cold air intake on my 98 monte Ls 3.1 V6 but i heard that in the winter a cold air intake robs your gas mileage and that concerns me becuase i live in northern wisconsin is this true. My second Question is i like the sound of a tuner exhuast for my car i have right now in my car a stock single outlet exhuast minus the catalytic converter what do i need to add to get that tuner sound.

well adding a cold air intake will not rob your car of gas milage in the winter, i just put mine on a couple of weeks ago and the gas milage is great

as for the tuner sound on your car you would have to put a 'fart tube'on the back of the exhaust getting rid of the stock muffler. you can buy those at any autozone or parts store down there, they're usually stainless steel

maybe its just because he's still having fun with it and hammering the gas everytime he takes off to see what it sounds like and see how good it takes off

i had that problem for a couple days ....lol

k&n does not make one for it, so you can either custom make one yourself or check ebay for some on there

its all just custom, i went to an exhaust (one of my customers) and he did the downpipe, got rid of the u-bend, and i gave him a high flow cat to put on it(universal) and he got rid of the resonator off of it. all the stuff he took out he just replaced with stainless steel straight exhaust pipe
