Changing Exhaust Manifolds
I'm considering channging out my exhaust manifolds. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with changing them on a 2003 SS. I know on some older cars from where the engines get so hot the bolts tend to seize up and break fof when you try to remove the manifold and you end up having to take you car to a machine shop... anyone have any advice from experience to offer?

ported manifolds, i want to keep a certain amount of hte "exhaust scavenging", i hear headers can drop your torque a little. plus the horsepower ratings on websties show them to only be about a 5-6 hp difference or so... not worth 3 times the price i don't think

RE: Changing Exhaust Manifolds
On my 04 they practically fell out. The only ones I had problems with was the ones on the rear crossover and that was because I should have unscrewed them from underneath the car. - So that's a bit tip on the rear crossover.
Other than that it is pretty easy to swap out to PEMS... Takes about 4 hours.

RE: Changing Exhaust Manifolds
i looked at mine... my dad says the engine would have to be disconnected from the motor mounts. i don't think it would. i figure it will be a pain in the rear.. but just take the fuel line lose and the crossmember off and it would be hard to get on those threads.. but it should come right off. i looke underneath... it would be HARD to take one out becasue the floor pans are so big and the oil pan is in teh way wouldn't it?
