CAI problem
Ok i am really just looking for input on this. I got a Cold Air Intake for my birthday for my 06 i had it on there for about a week and the check engine light came on. So i used my dad's SCT tuner for his F-150 and checked the codes because my reader would not check them because its too new. It was the Map sensor code....it would go on and off for a while...Then i had to replace thermostat and the temp sensor so i put back on the facoty air box minus the silencer and the code is gone. Could the CAI cause the computer to throw this code???
Thanks

On my '03, there is a plug that goes in just before the throttle body along the air box passage way. If the new CAI doesn't have this plug or the little reciever for it is not right, that could be the problem. I don't know if the '06 has this said plug or not though. I do know on mine that when it is unplugged, the A/C does not work, but I don't remember it throwing the code.
My first thought whne you said this was that the oil from the air filter on that thing had gummed up your Mass Air Flow sensor.. that happens sometimes when people re-oil their K&N.

I have a real CAI on my 06 and NEVER had a problem with it. The Ebay ones are garbage, and not even real CAI's. If you really want a CAI, go to www.coldairinductions.com and order their's. Its more money for sure, but you get what you pay for! I highly recommend this intake for the 06-07 V6's, works great.
Good Luck!

ok well i put the factory air system back on it and it was fine for a while...But it came back on and i replaced the Map sensor. After a while it came back on tonight along with the "P0690 ECM/PCM Power Relay Sense Circuit High" code....What does this mean? I think the map sensor just needs the connector cleaned. But what could the other code be?
